What materials do you use to make limb templates?  Do you use a plexie glass material? And what do you use to cut the lines out striate?
Could you show pictures of some?

I scribed mine out on a piece of fiberglass.
lay out a center line and then your bow specs, Use a good straight edge and CLAMP it in place so it can't move.
If you scribe your lines, then you can sand right up to the line very nicely. I use my edge/belt sander to get close and then swith to a sanding block to get it right.
Other material will work, the fiberglass is very flexible and lays on the bow good.

I glue two pieces of .050 glass together and cut the pattern out. That gives you enough stiffness that you can tell if there is a glue bugger or something underneath.

I have my limb profiles on templets made of formica (counter top material). I use spring clamps to hold in place and mark the limb before removing the tape, grind to the line. Any cabinet shop will have scrap formica, most of the time for free.

Question for anyone using Formica.  How do you cut to the desired shape?

Thanks

X2 on formica.sand the templet to shape.I only do one side.Drill some hole's in it on the center line to line it up on the center line on the bow than flip it over for the other side.Keeps it exact--Joe
