Another Osage Stick
« on: March 24, 2012, 08:33:00 AM »
Heres some pics of one I finished up about a month ago. It started with about 2.5 inches of reflex and ended up keeping about 1.5" after tillering and shooting it in. The reflex was natural and most of it came right off the handle so it made for a little different tiller profile. 64" ntn, 1-1/8" wide to midlimb and then tapers down to 3/8" tips, 52# at 28", walnut tips and tru-oil finish. The backing is some camo cloth which I'm still not sure if I like or not. Thanks for lookin.

Great looking stick....if you are going to back a bow with cloth...there is nothing wrong with the camo look...can we see more of that it looks like.... looks good with the walnut tips...nice job!

Looks great man. Nice job.
Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

The last foot of the top limb is pretty stiff.

Thanks for all the compliments guys.

Eric, I scraped on that top outer limb a little bit since the time I took that pic, I just didnt take the time to take another pic afterwards.

Igor, Heres another shot of the camo cloth. It laid down real smooth I just dont care for the pattern that much.

Lookin good!  Wood        that apparent stiffness at the top be due to that snakeyness in the same area? (edit: nevermind see you took care of it)

Side note:  an Okie in a razorback shirt . . . now don't that beat all!         Since you're already confused i can send you a burnt orange shirt to straightn you up a bit    :D

Yeah Kevin I kinda stay confused. But dont bother with the orange shirt cause Im pretty sure I'll never get that delirious.   :knothead:  The only thing orange in my closet are my osage bows.   :biglaugh:     Seriously though, I grew up in Arkansas but moved to Oklahoma when I got married, I still cant make myself root for those sooners though. As for the username, Razorback was already taken.
