Hi everyone. I am not a bowhunter so I hope you don't mind me posting here, but I have a question that I'm sure you can answer. My father has had a bow (Blackhawk Yellowjacket) for many, many years. I just today found out what kind it is because I have been lurking on this forum and found a number of you discussing this type of bow. I also discovered that the numbers on the bow mean that my father's bow was made in January of 1957. However, I don't know what the other numbers mean, so I hope you can tell me.
Beneath the "157" there is Y325. Below that is 47#. The last number is @28. What do they mean?
Also, how would I clean this bow? I think it is made of fiberglass? And what kind of bow is it? A longbow? It stands about 5'5" and it is strung at the very ends (I think the original string is on there, because my dad hasn't used it since the late 50s, early 60s!) He is 91.
There are arrows, but I'm not sure how old they are. They are stored in the original leather "case," and there is a glove, as well, but our garage looks like it was furnished by Fred Sanford, so I'll have to do quite a bit of digging to find it.
Thanks for any information you can give me!
