home made drum sander Finished!

Here is my drum sander finished.I havent ground any lams with it yet but ive tested it on some scrap lumber and checked it with a micrometer.It seems to be very accurate.So far I have around $50.00 invested in it and a lot of time.Thanks for looking Scott

Scott are you controlling the feed rate by hand. I have a small simple one, the feed rate being constant is my biggest problem.

Ron so far just testing with some scrap pine and oak i havent seen an issue with feeding by hand.But i did make my infeed and outfeed table long enough that i can push it through without having to catch it on the other side.I go slow,take light passes,and dont stop feeding until the product is completly out the other side.Also my table is very slick(laminated flooring)which i think helps.So for its worked great.

Really cool project.  I've been watching for deal on one, but may give building one a go. Some instability at work so I might have a whole bunch of time on my hands soon.
