Can't shoot a lefty.....
« on: May 29, 2012, 11:16:00 AM »
A friend of mine wanted a bow for his wife- something around 35#@22" and left handed    . He chose this bow because of the small riser size(<1.5") and length 60"s.
So far I'm on track weight wise- I also discovered I can't shoot a lefty
Here's a few pictures so far...

Sweet bow Dave... I borrowed a buddys lefty bow the other day when we were shooting and at ten yards shot a 2" group with 3 arrows... I couldnt believe it. Liked it so much i bought a lefty cheap ILF riser now looking for limbs.

Nice bow, Trux... What do you mean you can't shoot lefty? I thought everybody was a southpaw!

It's a sad sad sight to watch me shoot left handed, it's like I've never seen a bow in my life-lol. The only thing safe in the yard is the target.

Nice!!!
I once made a lefty longbow for my brother-in-law.  Man, does cutting the shelf on the wrong side play tricks on your mind.

Almost all the bows I build lately are ambidextrous - no shelf. I guess you could call them half leftys. Or maybe partly right.
Don't know how I got here and don't know where i'm going, but life is grand.

When I tiller a bow I do most of the finishing work by shooting the bow with a bare shaft. I have an uncle and a good friend who are lefty's and each want a bow but I don't know what quallity I can produce with being able to shoot the bow so I have not made them bows yet. I do have a 35# lefty in the works at the moment so I can learn to shoot a lefty, but untill then hats off to you on a beautiful left handed bow!

Dave, that is a nice looking bow. I'm a target-panic lefty convert, I'd be happy to shoot it for you. Although,It would require a signed contract to get it back.  :readit:
I didnt miss, thats right where I was aiming
