Shelf lay out
« on: June 01, 2012, 06:52:00 PM »
What is the proper distance from the center of a riser to the top of the shelf? I trying to make r a 17" riser for three fingers under. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Well I make my bows with equal length limbs, so the center of the bow is the center of my riser. I measure up 1 1/2 inches from center for the arrow shelf.

Thanks Roy. That's about where I put mine now. I thought about lowering the shelf closer to my hand. I'm not sure how that will effect the tiller +/-  :dunno:

Mine are equal length  also, with bow center where the web of hand is. I go 1 to  1.25 up for shelf, but I like my arrow close to my hand.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I make my bows equal also. I grip the handle and mark the arrow pass right on top of my hand. That is about 1" to 1.5" above center.
