48" Kids glass bow
« on: June 16, 2012, 01:53:00 PM »
This is a 48" bow I made for my favorite son.  I used .030 clear glass, a 14" osage riser, two mcassar ebony veneers and a 36" barrell tapered actionwood p lam for the taper.  You can see the p-lam fade out about 6" from each side.  I glued this up on my full size, Mild R/D form. Instead of using no-gloves (given they are very large for him), I just put on a heat shrink tube (rubber electrical thing) on there and that worked well.  He shot his first arrow with this bow at a little over 2 years.

Really cool Brad, I love it, he will probably be out shooting you before you know it.

I don't think he will be coming with me this year...He is a little young still for that 95 degree bowmaking.   When are you planning on getting down there?
