Artifical sinew bow string
« on: June 17, 2012, 01:03:00 PM »
I got some 70lb. artifical sinew from 3 rivers, advertised as acceptable for bow strings. I made a string using my usual formula - so many strands per bow weight. I ended up with a small rope, diaameter much larger than B-50 string. Any one tried this and how many strands, ie, 30-40-50 lb. bows?

I have seen people use it for strings.  I think it's to stretchy for a "good" bow string.  Again, others will disagree.  B-50 is a better bet.  I use real sinew, b-50 and Fast Flight.  I think as far as string diameter, use about half the strands you would use for for b-50.

Thanks for the info. I use B-50 most of the time but had to give this a try.
