TRAPPING LIMBS ?
« on: July 03, 2012, 01:00:00 PM »
I am about to begin work on one of the Bamboo back and belly bow kits from James Parker. I have never worked with bamboo before and I have a question. When trapping the bamboo on the back and belly how far do you take it?

In the DVD that came with the bow Mr. Parker showed how to trapp the limbs but didn't really say or show how far to take the trapezoid shape. If anyone has a picture that would help alot.

 Thanks,

 Numunuu.

How wide is the bow? You could probably take 1/8" off at the back(1/16" each side). Does the bow cross section need to be trapped?
Have you contacted James? He is very open and I'm sure he'll tell you what you want to know.

Pat B,

The bow is 1 1/2 inch wide. It shows on the DVD trapping the sides both front and back for the length of the limb, I just couldn't get a good idea how much to take off. I will try to contact James. Thanks.
God Bless
