Gemsbok horn bow

Anyone here build a gemsbok horn bow? I found a site that sells horns for about 20$ a horn. But they need a 100$ minimum.

I was thinking of doing a nice takedown gemsbok. Any info would help.

I have made one, it was pretty cool. I made a mistake and had to shorten it up though. Now its 60# at about 19", way too heavy. I have shot it with a short draw but really its just used as decoration in my living room now. I would love to try again though and make one I could hunt with. PM me and I can go in with you to get some horns. I'm in Castlerock.

You can cut the horns down the middle, and have your clamping system set up, boil them and they will flatten easily, run them over a belt sander to level the core and boil them again or use a heat gun and do a section at a time domt know much but do know some things, do the same thing for most species of antelope horns, pronghorn, kudu ,impala about anything from Africa
