Howdy all,
Working on a red oak board bow for a neighborhood kid, and have noticed on previous builds that the finish leaves a pocked texture due to the open porous grain of red oak.
So my question is, should I try elmers wood filler? Or will it just make more problems? Please let me know if anyone has tried this, as I want to make a nicely finished bow. I plan to seal it with polyurethane. I would expect the wood filler will take stain differently, but I don't mind, just want a nice smooth finish wihout the tiny dimples.
Thanks,
Jon
