bocote lams bubbelin black tar

i went out to glue my limbs up today.pre heated my bocote lams and they came out with a ton of black tar like dots all over them im sure that will impede glue adhesion.do you guys know of a cure?

Had that happen with lacewood one time, I gave it a light sanding to remove all the tar stuff, glued it up and life was good.

When working with oily exotics acetone is a must. I use clean white lint free towels (tee shirt material works good) and wipe until there is no discoloration from the natural oils coming from the wood. Let the surface dry and acetone dissipate before glue up. I love to turn coco and bocote for game calls. But they do require an oil free surface for laminating and finishing with automotive clear coat.

Thats what is become of Bocote. Oily no grain wood.I have herd they have cut it all down. what we see now is left.TO BAD
