Bamboo Belly Help!! Splinter???-Wrap Applied-

I was working on this for my dad and when I took the tape off after tillering I noticed this...

   

It is about midlimb on the bottom limb, belly side.

I kept an eye on it, put about 100 arrows through it, put a finish on it and just got done putting about 60 arrows through it tonight. My question is will this bow fail? or can I wrap it, or just superglue it?

I would really hate to turn it into firewood... It shoots really nice. It's only pulling 47lbs at 28".

I would super glue it and then wrap with sinew. You could wrap the other limb also to make them match if ya like.

Roy has more experience then I but my thoughts would be to sand it out a little, feathering it out then skive in a simular piece of boo with quality epoxy and then wrap per Roy. A thin piece of horn might also work.

I don't have any sinew, but will serving thread work just as well?

Maybe not as well but it should work. Maybe a couple layers, then soak it with super glue.

Well here is my wrap -

 
The glue is still wet and a managed to get it everywhere... I am going to sand the area around the patch after it dries. Do I coat the superglue with a finish just like the rest of the bow?

I found some black artificial sinew and tried a superglue I have never tried before -

I somehow nicked the back of my favorite BBO and noticed a raised splinter a few days ago.

I have put a dozen or so of these on various bows in the past. All but one are still shooting.  On the one that failed I put the wrap on much too short and the part of the crack that wasn't wrapped cause a limb failure.

I roughed up the area with course sandpaper, superglued the crack leaving a puddle to dry over it, wrapped the area with serving thread and soaked the thread with superglue.

I think I wrapped enough on each side, the area that was a concern was about 3/8" and the wrap ended up being about 2 7/8". I roughed the area up with 120 grit and wiped it down before applying the glue. I guess only time will tell  

(that little area on the left side of the wrap in the picture was where the sinew had stuck and I had to peel it off, it looks like a splinter but its not   )

I use Titebond wood glue, but where'd you get the Titebond CA?

Lowes had it, there is even an activator you can buy for an instant cure.
