50's style recurve
« on: November 04, 2012, 12:05:00 PM »
Though I'd post a couple pics of a bow I just finished. This is off a design I got from Gregg...The young lady I built it for likes purple so I went with purple heart,a figured maple I-beam, bamboo and maple core lams and black glass. This one ended up 52@28 and 41@23 for the new owner and is 60"s ntn. Not a big fan working with purple heart but it does look nice with the black glass and I think she will be happy with how it shoots.

50s style curves are my favorite. I just love the elegant simplicity. Beautiful execution!

Thanks guy's - it's a pretty neat recurve- starts off at 1.5" with the limbs tapered from fades to tips similar to a longbow- is very quiet and pretty quick... going to have to build one for myself with a different riser choice- lol
