Correcting limb twist question
« on: November 20, 2012, 08:06:00 PM »
So, apparently my lines got a little off kilter on my most recent (only my 6th) composite build. And it seems that I took off too much on one side, apparently the same side, of each limb. The result is limb twist setting the string off center to the right as you peer through the string to the belly of the bow.

Or you could flip it over and the string tracks left

Okay, for continuity in this conversation, lets say it tracks right... So the right side is the strong side of the limb, and where I need to remove width, correct?

I have checked and the nock groves are of equal depth all the way around.

This is my first time to error on this level, so any point in the right direction is appreciated,

Steve

I think that I may have answered my own question, sort of... Not that I didn't look before now, or that the resulting information didnt confuse the hell out of me, but I finally found this thread (http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=125;t=007714#000000) and a picture is worth a thousand words.

So, by this diagram, my previous statement is 100%, 180* backwards IE: wrong, correct?

One thing is for sure. Im going back to my old way of marking center!

It bends towards the weak side so remove wood from the other side of the limb. Jawge
