Here are some pics of a bow I made for a 12 y/o girl for xmas. phone pics so they are not that great, but it is basically purple rit dye disolved in alcohol, but I made it very dark, so it has a brown look to it with a purple tint. I like it. Let me know what you think...

I dont have a band saw (yet) so here is how i cut out the shelf on the riser. Pics show slim hacksaw cuts, then break or chizeled them out. Sanded the rough out with dremel, and then smoothed it out on sander and by hand with a file and sand paper.. Probably a lot more work than using a band saw but if you dont have one well it works.

Thanks guys. I'll try to get better pics before it goes to her dad and under the tree.
Oh, I also made a bow sock out of a white fleece blaket with pink blue and purple polka dots.. (hoping your hunting bow does not have that)...
