Glue for riser buildup?
« on: December 09, 2012, 08:40:00 PM »
Hey folks, I'm working an Osage stave that isn't quite large enough to shape the handle area the way I'd like. So my plan is to glue an additional piece of Osage onto the riser area before final shaping, in order to give myself more wood to work with. My question is, what is a glue that would hold sufficiently? Preferably something that doesn't require heat, because I don't have a hot box. Also, this glue does not have to stand up to flexing, because the area where its used will not bend.

Thanks in advance, Zane

Let me guess, you wanna glue some wood on the belly of the riser? An additional 2 "horns" that gives a profile like a longbow hybrid?

No, I'm not looking for a hybrid profile, basically a hill style profile, the stave just doesn't have the wood needed to have a deep grip like I'd want.

Any of the TiteBond glues will work just fine.
