Shorten limbs / weight gain
« on: December 28, 2012, 06:36:00 PM »
I have a  mild r/d longbow that I made. It was one of my first, and there are a few things I'd like to re-do. The limb tip overlays are my first attempt (not pretty) and the draw weight is less than I wanted. I'm thinking about cutting an 1" off each end, to re-do overlays and gain draw weight. Anyone have any idea how much I could expect to gain?

I assume 3# for each inch taken from the length.  There are many variables but that is at least in the ballpark.
Take a kid hunting!
