Basement range
« on: February 27, 2008, 12:35:00 AM »
Here are a couple of pics of the archery range, hunting area that I eluded to on vermonster13's mentor challenge thread. It is a work in progress, pics only show the bow area and hunting/work area. Pics of the shooting area up soon. Keep in mind, I am not a carpenter, but I am pretty proud of this so far.

A couple of before pictures...

and after...

Sorry for the wheel bows at the end of the rack (especially the horrible pink one     )

As a carpenter, I say Good Job outta You!  Don't worry 'bout the wheels, takes time for some to ride without 'trainers.'  Lookin' forward to seeing the rest.

Nice setup, one personal observation is that indoor ranges are good for strength building, muscle conditioning and memory. However, you have to continue to shoot outside for hunting practice. I am not sure why but it is just different when you are outside. FWIW.

I would love to have a work/shooting area in my basement. Only problem is I dont have a basement.
Looks good, I see you are planning ahead, you put extra pegs on that rack for more bows.

looking so far.  I have an eleven block basement which allows me to shoot down there.  Good idea on the barrel for  your arrows,  Where did you get it?

I live in a small northern community where the winters are long and cold.
During the winter months I am home more and have no other place to shoot but in my basement. It is great to keep in shape and to correct flaws in technique. I have mirrors setup so I can see myself for certain exercises that I do with my eyes open but  I shoot a lot with my eyes closed too.
Like LV2HUNT said, There is nothing like shooting outside but where there is a will there is a way and any practice is better than no practice.
May your next adventure lighten your heart, test your spirit, and nourish your soul.

How many "AA" batteries does the paint job on the pink bow take?
