Spraying sand paper with cooking spray?
« on: March 18, 2013, 01:57:00 PM »
I just placed an order for sand paper for my drum sander.I was talking with the lady on the phone about oily woods and sand paper clogging on my drum sander.Immidiatly she said Pam.She said to spray a light coat of Pam cooking spray on the sand paper when i put a new piece on the drum.Im a little conserned with this idea when grinding lams due to possible oil residue left over.Has any one ever tried this?Scott

Oil and glue are not a good mix,Your concern is well founded.
36 grit and smaller "bites" will work just fine.

Just take smaller bites and use one of those big eraser looking thingies.  Pam may or may not prevent the paper from clogging but it doesn't really matter if the glue don't stick.
