bow still safe to shoot?
« on: March 20, 2013, 05:05:00 PM »
I was out practicing when the upper sting loop broke, leading to a kabluey sound and me wondering if the bow is still safe to shoot. There doesn't appear to be any sings of delamination or cracking, but I'm wondering if just the stress of the breaking would damage it?(I can post pics, but not sure if that would help)

It's probably OK if you can't find anything.  Look it over real good.  Once you put a new string on it, exercise it a little bit to half draw or so and listen for any cracking noises.  If nothing, then test fire it a couple time at half draw to see if still all holds together.  - That's what I'd do anyway.
