Longbow riser placement

I am planning to make a R/D longbow using Bingham plans.  The limbs are equalf lenght (FO to nock) and will have a locator grip.

My question is:  Should the deepest point of locator grip be at the center of the riser and center of the bow OR should the center of riser & the bow be lower on the grip.  Bingham shows it lower.

I have built a few 1 pieced and TD recurves and have always put the center at the deepest part of the grip.  I can't seem to wrap my head around the lower center point on Binghams plans.

I don't put the deepest point of the locator grip in the middle of the bow, but the point where the palm lays on the grip. This is the point where the pressure from the bow arm/hand applies. This way both limbs are  of equal length and I thinks it's easier to get the bow shoot nice and quiet.

Thanks Andy, you have confirmed my thoughts.  I had a feeling that because of hand pressure over the entire grip that the center should be lower.  I appreciate your input.
