I was looking for a thread I started about a bow rescue called the "Frankenstein bow" and it is apparently gone as well. I had it bookmarked to show different bow patching techniques to folk. Last time I referred someone to it it "didn't exist".

I know that I got some emails last month showing threads that were being archived that I had started.  I assume that they do an annual clean out and if threads haven't had much activity they are filed.

That's my theroy.

Mods have deleted a few (to many?) threads that I have either contributed too, paid attention too, etc.  If, as in my latest case, it gets deleted they  might not tell you.  If there is a rule infraction they can delete it.  Maybe someone mentioned they had a bow for sale on the thread...

Yeah there was a thread Tuesday asking for any 3D shoots in Roanoke this weekend.  I answered but when I went to check it a half hour later it was gone.  Technical difficulties?

If YOUR post or topic gets deleted, you should be told why.  If not, get on MY case about it via an email or PM.  I wanna make sure YOU know why an action was taken so it doesn't get repeated.

We make it quite clear what we want and don't want at Trad Gang.  If yer not sure, before you post, ask us via an email or PM.

If you need more info about a post deletion, DO NOT MAKE A POST ABOUT IT - instead, email or PM Admin or a Moderator.

Thanx,
Rob.

If a post about a shoot/event appears on PowWow, it'll get moved to where it belongs, Trad Events.

We SHOULD leave a closed copy of that topic on PowWow, and it'll have a huge title hot link to where the topic was moved.  Sometimes we don't do that - we're human, we surely make our share of mistakes, we apologize for our mistakes.

Thanx for your understanding,
Rob.

Not theory, fact.

About every 3 months or so, PowWow and a few other high usage forums are "pruned".

EVERY SINGLE TOPIC is reviewed, and some are moved to forums such as How To, Review, Highlights, the Archive forums, or elsewhere.

It would be impossible to leave those threads intact at their original locations, closed and with hot links.  Likewise, most of the topic starters typically may not be advised their topic was moved.

Thanx,
Rob.

No problem Rob.  I didn't see a "Moved" thread and couldn't remember the original poster's handle so I couldn't do a search for it.  It also didn't appear under my "recent posts" list.  No biggie.

....Anyway, does anybody know what happened to that thread ??

It still tells me on the search, that I'm requesting a subject that does not exist.

thanks

If the search reports back that the word(s) you've searched on doesn't exist, either the topic doesn't exist or the word(s) you're searching on aren't a good logical match.

Rob.
