OK, now the rest of the story.As you can see in the pic these twins are one single lam of A-boo+veneers. I usually use 3 lams in my D/R bows, but for quite a while I have been building kids bows with 1 lam of A-boo to be able to have less material and way less work in a bow for the kids. So I think(always dangerous)maybe I should build a hunting weight bow with a single lam and see if it works out.And as long as I am experimenting(always dangerous also)I'll build two of them and test power lams.So if you look at the bottom one you can see the power lam running up the belly ramp.This is the only difference in these two bows.So what did I find out? 1.the single lam bow is very smooth and will draw past 30" where the three lam bow definitely stacks before 30" draw.2.For the same stack I get pretty much the same draw weight for the single and the three lam bow.3.The single lam bow gives me the same speed as the three lam bow.4. the power wedge changes the feel of the draw a little, seems to pull harder at the beginning of the draw but gives no added speed to the arrow.I shot a lot of arrows and am satified this was good results.Two more points.1. just because I got these results with my R/D design doesn't mean they hold for all designs.2. I can't comment on longivety of the single lam design,I'll let you know in a few years. Isn't it fun!!!        Bob

Just shoot em awhile and then lay back on form along with the bow with more lams and see if you have any set?

I've been lookin back to this thread to see how the single lam ended up working out. Have you seen any difference between the two bows? Any set like kenny was askin about?
Curious because I was thinking about making a single lam bow myself.
