reversed belly overlays

Once again I proven to myself what a idiot I am.I glued the belly overlays on backwards         thick part towards tips instead of thin part towards tips.
They are glued on with cal and I was wondering if I could somehow remove them without screwing up the glass that they are glued to???Would sanding be the way to go or am I stuck with a real funny looking bow?
While Im waiting for you guys to pull my head out,I'm going to the bear baits.It should be a real easy trip even with a heavy pack cause I'll be kicking myself all the way up the mountain

Al, if you have enuff overlay, carefully cut them off with a bandsaw. You can sand the leftovers off the glass.

Reshape to fit and glue back on.

I don't know if they make a solvent that will loosen CA without damaging stuff you want to save.

Al send the bow to me and I'll properly dispose of it and you can start over.   :D  

Seriously do like Kenny suggested just take it easy when ya get close to the glass.

Do you have enough riser to move the grip a 1/4 inch or so in closer to the back? I see some glass overlays on the back, that adds strength to the riser. Maybe make this one a low wrist grip?

Yep bandsaw them close to the glass then hand sand the rest of the wood off. You can use a pretty aggressive grit because you need the glass ruffed up there anyhow.

I know acetone will deactivate CA glue but I don't know how it will act with the smooth one.  Cut off and sand the best idea.  That riser is great.

Another option would be to leave them and sand them flush with the riser and add another overlay of the colors in the riser, where you need material.  After cutting your grip as needed, taper and feather the ends into the glass.  It will look like you intended to do it that way and just added another multi-layer overlay to the back of the riser.

Finally a question in my wheelhouse! I specialize in fixing screwups. Apparently strungstick has made a couple mistakes as well because his suggestions are exactly what I would do. It will look great and add some additional color to the handle.
