Coconut shell as tip overlays
« on: June 04, 2013, 11:54:00 AM »
Has anyone ever used coconut shells as tip overlays?
That stuff is hard as a rock, take a beautiful polish and has some nice patterns and color.

If anyone has I would like to see pictures..

hmmm you don't think it could just break apart after the repeated shock of being shot?  I know the way to crack one open is just to tap it around the middle and it opens right up

Yep but let it dry out and it is hard as a rock, also tap on a piece of wood long enough and it starts to break down ...
