how should it bend?

Made a couple of hybrids in the last week. Board bows with backing for the reflex/deflex. Just wondering where the limbs should bend? Most pics I've seen it appears there is a lot of bending just outside the fades due to the limb profile. I'm new to this but really like what I have turned out so far. Any pics/advice would be awesome. And I thought tillering a straight limb was tough......

On any bow the limb bends pretty evenly throughout it's working length.  You have to remember the actual displacement of each segment of the limb from the unbraced profile.  If you examine it in that way, the whole limb shares the load/bends (except stiff tips, etc).

That said, I understand the concept but haven't done a real d/r bow yet, so somebody else will have to post pics and take you from there.

Better yet, search d/r profiles and look at the pics from the posts.  Compare unbraced, braced, and drawn pics and you'll see what i'm talking about.

Yes, it usually only appears to be bending more just outside the fades because that's where the deflex is.

The fully drawn profile of ANY bow should be scrutinized with its unbraced profile in mind.

The result is, not all bows should be tillered to form 'perfect arcs'.
