what size handle for nicholson #49?

I know i have seen it before, but now all i can find is "Nicholson handle size 1"... well all the file handles i find at homo depot are letters... C...D.. sorry if its a dumb question but what size handle do i need?    :knothead:

Can't help ya there. Mine all have numbers on em.

I would just take my #49 in with me and match it up to something. They can't accuse you of stealing the rasp because they don't sell them.

Get a BIG handle,you will thank yourself later when you are really hogging off wood.

My Nicholson #49 is on the left.

Thanks Eric, will do.  what im really asking about though is the size of the hole. if I am to believe Roy, i want a really tiny hole... for my really tiny... well... you know....    :laughing:

I made one from a 1" diameter branch. Epoxied it in and added an atrificial sinew wrap.
Make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes!

The handles in the picture have a threaded hole for the file tang, just screw the file onto the handle.
