Can't say for sure but I'd try a fire department close by.  May not be the quickest way to get it but I know at my firehouse we have to replace every length after a certain time frame.  It will also get replaced if it fails our annual hose test.  50 feet may get tossed because it fails in one 6 inch section.  And when I say replaced I mean thrown out.  Maybe they would give you a heads up and you could come by when they're getting ready to pitch some.  Just a thought...

i had some old fire hose, but i think the id is slightly bigger than the binghams stuff- and just cant get it airtight- seems like the binghams stuff is really skookham!
will keep looking.

sadly Hop...or happily!!! we live on a pretty isolated island- not much in the line of speciality stores!!

Here's what I have tried. Standard firehose will leak I have about 150 Feet of the stuff. I tried green slime tire glue works but makes hose stiff. Next I tried vinyl swimming pool back flush hose. I pulled it through the fire hose then used 1 1/4" pvc end caps to plug ends. The Binghams firehose clamp system uses a firehose that has been vulconized on the inside has alliminium end caps. Basically if you like diy you will end up with spending as much or more than the cost of the store bought. But you live on a Island so everything is shipped to you. Gifting would be the only way to go without the import cost.

It is not really fire hose, it just looks like it.

We use/sell the double wall hose and it is nice because it resists puncture. I would guess that I have probably glued up 300 plus bows on a single hose without replacing or fixing it.

The key to me is the end plugs and quality hose clamps.
Thanks, bigjim

You want the "Red Chief" hose, not the cotton covered hose. This  has built in leaks to keep it cool in a fire.
