JD Berry Scorpion Brace Height
« on: March 01, 2008, 11:45:00 PM »
I have one of these on the way as we speak, and was wondering if I could get some advice on the brace height for this bow.  I cant wait to get it, it will be my first longbow.   :D   I will post pics when it arrives.

Thanks,

brack

If it's a new bow coming from James, he'll give the recommended brace heighth, but on every longbow of his that I've seen, he says to start out at 6 3/4".

6 5/8 is what James usually recommends on that bow. Mine have worked best for me at 6 5/8 to 7" depending on the bow. You should be happy with it.  All of mine are smooth shooters and James always makes a beauty.

James makes some real nice stuff. You should be happy with it. My Scorpion in the only bow I can just pick up and shoot no matter how long it's been and shoot it right on the money. My brace is set at 7in and I draw 29 to the back of the head.
