Anaheim area bowyers?
« on: February 22, 2014, 09:34:00 AM »
Hello,
My wife and I will be vacationing in anaheim this year. We would like to take a day and visit with one or maybe two bowyers in the area, say within a 2 hour drive of anaheim. We are interested in both recurves and longbows. If anyone knows of bowyers that are within the 2 hour driving distance we would like their names so we may contact them for a scheduled appointment if needed.
Thank you and have a great day!

Try Dan Villar it might be spelled Villars, he makes a very nice longbow and is a good shot to boot.

Wood or glass bow?  Steve Gardner(Badger) is one of the authors of the Traditional Bowyers Bibles and lives near LA. Steve is a great guy with lots of wood bow knowledge. Tim Baker, also a TBB author lives near there too.

Kurt, are you thinking of Ken Villars in Apple Valley?
Steve Gardner lives in Torrance.
Both of these guys are reachable from Anaheim.

Jeff, depending upon the time of your visit there is also a bow making and primitive skills gathering in Pasadena on the third Sunday of the month that you would probably be interested in. Steve occasionally visits the gathering and Ken is usually there.
If you need additional details PM or email me.
