Questions about reverse handle Hill style bows?
« on: February 24, 2014, 07:53:00 AM »
I have seen quite a few of the reverse handle Hill style bows lately and they look really cool.  Is that the only reason for them, because they look cool or are there other advantages to them?  Are there made the same way as a regular Hill style bow and just strung backwards?  I've made selfbows before and am thinking about getting into fiberglass bows as well.  For my first fiberglass bow I was thinking about making a Hill style bow with one (perhaps thicker) parrellel lam like the one described in Trad Archer's World last spring-summer.  I then though bout making that same one a reverse handle Hill style and was wondering what you folks can tell me about them?

the design puts  the hand further forward of the working limb --reducing torque
