Fast flight on selfbow

Has anyone used a padded fast flight on a selfbow? I was told it would be ok as long as it was padded.

Yep, never had a problem, but I only use them on bows with tip overlays.  The exception is osage, I don't worry about having overlays when using it.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

I switched to FF about two years ago on all of my selfbows.

I've got 4 selbows all with d97 10 strand loops padded to 16 strands. Only one of the 4 has tip overlays and I've had no issues with any of them. Definitely increases performance.

I use B-50 but I have 2 osage bows that Dano sent me, both have fast flight and neither have tip overlays.

I usually don't bother even padding the loops unless it's a really skinny string.

I have one sinew backed eastern red cedar with pin nocks and no overlays, it's been shooting for years with a FF string.

I don't even own B-50.

I use 10 strands and add 2 strands of b50 in the ends of each bundle, overlays or not
