new here.
« on: March 05, 2014, 01:11:00 PM »
Hello all,
Been shooting bows for many years. Until just recently it has been all compound. Traditional has been lurking in the back of my mind for years, maybe its a primitive thing that's in all of us.
Anyway just wanted to say hello and show a couple of pics of some bows I have made. They are nothing special but I will get better, and more elaborate as time goes on.
The first is a red oak pyramid style... its 62" 50lbs @ 28, its a fast shooting bow with next to no hand shock. I backed it with 100% linin.
The second is a molly, it also came in at 50lbs @ 28 red oak. Backed this one with rawhide, and then python. Its not as fast or as nice to shoot as the pyramid, but fun for my first build.
Planning on doing a laminated longbow next.
Well cant seem to add pics.... so for now I will just say that I love this site, and am looking forward to learning, and sharing.

Welcome!  You have to upload your photos to a photo sharing site like Photobucket then copy and paste them to your post.  Hope that works for you.
It's hard to make a wooden bow which isn't beautiful, even if it's ugly.
