Finished a couple...Ash and Mulberry
«

Been busy working on several bows since hunting season ended the first of the year. Here are a couple I have finished up - thought I would share.
Made these for my 2 kids - although they haven't taken a strong interest in bows I thought someday maybe they would appreciate something made by Dad!
First is a 59" mulberry 40# at 24" rawhide backed - stained with diluted black leather dye and a cocco brown water based stain. Finished with tung oil.

And here is the second - Green Ash - 62" 40# @ 23", no backing but toasted, stained belly grain with black leather dye and then with "wine" rit stain. Finished with tru oil. Thanks for looking.

Thanks Jeff - I like the looks of mulberry. The two mulberry bows I have made have both taken some set. Think I might try making a bit wider one next time - maybe try toasting it a bit too.

Good looking bows. Really like the way you finished them.

Sweet looking bows, for sure. Nice bends on both of them.
