Another Update:

Just a beautiful day today high of 68 with clear blue skies and a slight breeze. So guess what? Back to the shop!

Got the side profile drawn out went a little heavy just in case went with 1.5" thickness at the middle of the handle, 1" at the end of the handle, 7/8" at the fades and straight taper to 5/8" at the nocks.

Used a hatchet to remove most of the wood and went to the draw knife to clean it up a little and ran into a snag...

One limb just has a little pin knot on one edge of the middle of the limb. But the other limb is another story! A total of three knots probably about the size of a nickel, but they're directly in the CENTER of the limb...

Now just so you know I left some thickness (roundness) to the center of the limb where the knots are (in other words didn't take the center of the limb to the lines; which are still measured heavy). Before I get too far ahead of myself I want to know how to proceed? I've scoured the forum and noticed a few people encountered the same problem but the bowying gurus gave them the bad news that the bow would not survive.

So what do you guys think about mine? Can it survive? If so what can I do to help it survive? If it won't survive it's no big deal I have 8 more stave to work with; I ain't given up yet! If the bow does survive, it's going to have character with those knots!

Pin knot on one limb; luckily it's the only one!

It goes through to the back

The Limb that worries me:

Oh and from what I can tell, these three nice sized knots do not go all the way through to the back (note I said "from what I can tell" lol).

Knotted area should be left wide and the bow tillered to be a little stiff in those areas. Jawge

Thanks George, glad to hear at least the bow isn't immediately doomed (only doomed based on my skill to keep it alive; which at this point I am skeptical)
