Bruising on bamboo backer
« on: May 18, 2014, 09:32:00 AM »

Should i be concerned with the integrity of the back or only cosmetic?  First picture is with rind scraped off and second pic is raw.

Looks like a water stain. Only cosmetic. I see it all the time building bamboo fly rods.

no its not a stain... its where the rind was dinged up. you can feel a depression when you run your finger over it.

In the first picture, there is no rind. It has been removed below the node. I see what could be 2 bruised spots.
