The STICK?????
« on: June 09, 2014, 07:00:00 AM »
Hey fullas. Im new to your forum. I live in New Zealand and find it hard to get the information on bows and I'm unable to handle the bows I want to. So I have been thinking about the Stick long bow from Tim Strickland but there isn't one in New Zealand for me to look at it, has anyone on here seen one or shot one them selves and able to give me a brief review?

welcome to the forum   :)   ,
but you might get a lot better results from posting it on the Pow Wow section of the forum, lots of guys on there with the knowledge to answer your question( not that we cant- but most fellas on here like to build rather than buy!)
but come right back- and let someone talk you into building a bow!!!- a few builders in Kiwiland on here-cheers bru!

I have a Stick longbow from Tim Strickland. Its handle is very much like that of a recurve. The limbs, I believe, are built by Jim Belcher of Sky Archery and are great. The bow shoots very well for me, as I also have a springy rest on it. I used it for deer hunting and turkey hunting last fall and was successful in both endeavors with the Stick longbow. It is a "thumbs up" bow. Tom

there are a few bowyers in NZ, where are you, North or south. I've not handled the bow you mentioned but if there is any other help or info you need I'm happy to share or ask around?
