I have a 64 inch RD pulling around 55lbs.
The tip overlays are ipe, maple. The string rests on the ipe.
Can I use a FF string on this bow? Or do you need phenolic, antler, bone, etc?
Would like to try one out but don't want to destroy my bow.

I would think that you should be good with FF.
I build all of my strings with ASTRO Flight and have used it on bows with walnut overlays without a problem.

Agree should be ok.
IPE is super tough as far as wear. You could have some Dacron padding added to the loops especially if going for a skinny string
