Quick Question: Static Recurve
« on: July 11, 2014, 06:51:00 AM »
With a fiberglass (back and belly) bow; can you building up a static tip on the belly side instead of using a tapered wedge between the laminations?

I'm afraid the overlays used to build the static tips would not hold.  However, I like the idea of building bush nocks.

If it can be done, I'm open to suggestions / guidance for how thick the overlays would need to be.

Also, do you start fading the static tips at the beginning of the recurve / just before / after?

I understand the idea of the static recurve acting as a rigid level and over straining the inner and mid limbs.

Can I expect an increase in draw weight?

Whats your opinions on Pros / Cons if I do this?

I would rather fail at something above my means, than to succeed at something  beneath my means
