Took weight off and Refinished my hunting bow
« on: September 14, 2014, 06:20:00 PM »
Hey everyone,

This summer took some weight off of my hunting bow "Frostbite".  It is a BBO that I built back in 2010.  Originally the bow drew 73lbs at 28 inches (my draw).  After a wrist injury and frankly not needing anywhere near that weight I decided to take some off.  I shot a few bows of varying weights to see what I liked and decided to take it down closer to 60lbs.  After sanding and finishing it came out at about 62 which I am happy with.  I like the release I get with heavier bows.

Finished product:

This bow has managed to put some meat in the freezer as on the last two openers.  Can't wait to get out! Good luck everyone.
Bring a compass because it's awkward when you have to eat your friends.

BBO 73#@28in

Nice.  I've got a BBO from a Dryad blank that I finished a few years ago and have been thinking about doing the same thing.
