placing the riser on tri-lam bow

On a glass bow the belly lam goes on the front side of the riser.  On the tri-lam bows the riser seems to be attached later with all the lams on the back side of the riser.  What is the reason for this?

I think it has more to do with personal preference, but I could be wrong. I build my tri-lam bamboo bows with the belly lam on the belly side of the riser. I just like them that way.

It think it is easier to just add the riser. You can still get a nicely shaped riser that blends into the limbs well. You can build them either way.

Because you don't have to make a perfect feather edge if it just goes on top. just square up a block and glue it on.
