Been using this set up for years.

Ralph, things seem pretty straight forward. The only question I have is, does the oscillating part with the legs go back in after the copper fittings are installed or do the copper fitting just bottom out on the plastic cover after its reinstalled? Great thread. Frank

Thanks for the re-build-along guys. Can't wait to modify mine and make some really nice selfbows    :archer:

If you buy an extra drum you can fairly quickly change between the copper spacer for non osolation or back to the original parts for osolation.

I just put mine in a zip lock bag incase I ever want it original again.

What I like is how much better and smoother the Ridgid sander works with out the osculation

Hey Ole Roy, I am intimidated by making a self bow. Dan sent me a nice stave a few years ago, I have pulled it out about a thousand times and looked at it but too scared to touch it!
I understand mechanical things and mainly got into bow making because I like making the jigs and fixtures. Someday I will find someone to hold my hand while I make my first self bow .

Thanks Ralph let me know what works for you. I'm on permanent Saturdays so I can come any time.

Roy I've been toying around with all wood but I'm skeered it would make me cantankerous like some other wood bow builders    :nono:
