My new Soy bow
« on: February 25, 2015, 07:51:00 PM »
Had a note in the mailbox today that said I had a long package at the P.O. that I had to pick up.  It was a new bow from Soy.  It's one sweet looking bow.  Dead straight and some beautiful wood.  It has some of my curly osage in it.  Maybe Soy can name the rest of the wood in it.  I strung it up and flung some arrows.  It's not only a looker, it's a shooter to.  Very quiet and hard hitting.  I'm anxious for the weather to improve so I can get to know it a little better.

Hope ya like it my friend...and hope to see some dead critters with it   :readit:
The lams are quilted maple (put a dull finish on the sides so they don't fire off like the should    :banghead:  ) the veneers are myrtle that I got from idaho curt and the riser is your Osage with figured myrtle

Your wood choices look nice together, enjoy getting to know it. Those are some sleek tips too!

Nice! She's a beaut.
Plant a fruit or nut tree today, and have good hunting tomorrow.

Soy, I put the broken limb from the selfbow I tried to make from that stuff on the window ledge in my shop.  I'm curious to see how it darkens as well.  I'll send you pictures of it.
