Thank for the Demonstration, David Flanrey
« on: May 09, 2015, 08:36:00 PM »
Thanks for the lam grinding demonstration today, David.  Also, giving me the scoop on Super Lams.  And, sharing your stash of red elm, among others, to make me a set of .002 lams and .001 Super Lam.

I look forward with visiting with you again.

A Super Lam is one of Kenny's contributions to traditional bow making.  I'll let him, or David, explain how it works.  I'm really looking forward to trying it out on my next bow.

A super lam has a power lam and a tip wedge built into it when it is ground.  Don't know who actually came up with it but Kenny showed me how to make them.  Less pieces to glue up.  Works very well for me.

Actually it's been in bows back to Jack Howard's I believe. Maybe earlier.
Stay sharp, Kenny.
