Longbow woods.

I've been sloooooowly       working on a pair of tri lams for my Niece and Nephew and I just wanted to ask for some opinions.
These bows are bamboo backed with pao ferro risers. One bow has a purpleheart core lam and I beam while the other has a padauk core and I beam.
I'm not sure of what would be best for the belly lams. I normally use blackened bamboo and this was the original plan, but I also have a bit of osage and some really nice yew.
The blackened bamboo would really set off the colors in the other woods, but is a bit trickier to tiller and I need these bows to be close to the draw weights I'm looking to hit. 30# and 40# respectively.

Depending on how long and narrow the bows (I.e. How stressed the belly will be, you can do a bit of scraping on the belly of bamboo. I file the nodes down first then tiller as normal. You have relatively little to work with, but it is possible. It will obviously not look like raw bamboo though.

Can't go wrong with osage or yew that's for sure.
