Zircote for riser
« on: January 22, 2016, 07:42:00 PM »
Hi all - I was wondering if anybody knows where I might be able to find a block of zircote for a longbow riser.  This if for a bow I'm planning to build for a good friend.  I've checked the websites of all the typical bowyer suppliers and didn't see any listed.  Any help is appreciated.

If you would want to drive about 5hrs Kiem lumber in charm had a big stack of it the last time I was there. The only problem I have when going there is buying more than I went for. I can spend hours in that place lots of wood to look at.

I have gotten Zircote before from Gilmer wood out of Oregon.. you can pick your piece on their website. The only draw back is that they wont take any less than a 100 dollar order. So I normally try to get three or four pieces when I order from them. But they normally have a pretty good selection. Hope that helps.
