14" Grizzly bandsaw extension?
« on: January 27, 2016, 05:30:00 PM »
Has anyone added the extension to use the longer blades?
Just wondering how it worked out?
Would guess it would prolong blade life some.

It's a--- must do project.
Very easy

Why? Other then adding resaw capacity what do you use the extra 6" for? I have one of the 14" Grizzly bandsaws as well. Thought about getting the extension for resawing, but couldn't really figure out what else the extra capacity would be useful for. Haven't needed it thus far.

My main reason for wanting the extra 6 inches is sawing slats or short boards, from a log.
With the use of a,simple jig should be easy cut cedar planks.

I have 14" Grizzly Bandsaw with a riser and wouldn't be without it. Grant it I also carve decoys so I needed the extra height for roughing out the bodies but It still has been nice for other random stuff. The only part I don't like is I cannot find blades locally and have to order them. I try to always have spare since I use a lot of reclaimed wood and it really sucks when you hit a nail and have to wait for new blade to come in.

Picked up my extension kit in Springfield Mo. While I was there for our UBM banquet this weekend.

With the wifes help had no trouble with instalation.
First could not get the new blade on. Found in my saw book how to adjust and now is running fine.

In a few days will make a jig for cutting short logs for bow handle wood.

Cool man post pictures of it when you get things set up. I might have to look at getting the extension one of these days.
