Material need for making a glass laminated long bow
« on: February 29, 2016, 03:18:00 PM »
I made a post about OJAM in the events site but thought I would ask here also if that is ok.  I am wanting to make a glass lamination longbow for hunting.  I wanted to know if anyone knew if there would be someone on site at OJAM who would be selling such items, laminations, glass, riser wood and such.      If not what would be a suggestion on needed items.    :)   Thanks for any help here.      ;)

Big Jim's is a sponsor here - have purchased several items from them - ships quick and great service.

Troy at WoodGallery 295 is a great source for laminations - also a sponsor here.

I have checked each site here but was just wondering if anyone knew about on site sales.  Being new I do not know what I would need from start to finish.  Big Jims and WoodGallery 295 both have great looking stuff.  Thanks for any help.

those guys are both great- but if you go to binghams, they sell kits- all the info- all the supplies- plans  and videos. a great way for a first bow- then start using the funky woods
great delivery- and Elmont is extremly helpful

If you go the Bingham route, you will avoid traps and mistakes that you have not yet imagined!  Don't take this as a criticism of our sponsors or any other supplier.  They may not be set up for or be in the position to actually mentor you through the whole process.

If you find a bowyer locally who would guide you through that would be a good avenue as well.
