New project, 60" 50s style
« on: May 21, 2016, 04:25:00 PM »
As many of you know I've made mostly mild D/R longbows and hybrid longbows, but have always liked the 50s style curves.

I've made a few curves in the past but was never really happy with them. The first form was OK but a little noisy. The second form I messed up the symmetry from one tip to the other. Only made one bow on that form.

I think I finally have a winner on the 3rd try. The first bow off the form came out a little heavy so I adjusted the recipe and came out with what just be my go to for 2016.

The first bow is on the left, still have to put a few coats of finish on it. The one on the right is the one I'm shooting. Bacote riser w Aboo core and Troy's Imbuyia veneers.

I like it.

You've got this longbow guy thinking about a recurve again.

Very nice! And they're for the correct hand    :bigsmyl:
